Nothing beats a vigorous workout in the open air, far from the dank recesses of your local gym. But let's face it, hitting the trail for a run or the backroads for a ride isn't always the easiest after a long day at the office. That's where Activetainment has you covered.

Their forthcoming line of treadmills, bikes, and rowing machines are decked out with interactive screens that simulate being out in the wilderness while you sweat.

To make it feel like you're actually ripping it up outdoors, the screens are loaded with animated 3D visualizations that are highly responsive to your movement—slowing down, speeding up, and tilting back and forth as you do. If you're lucky enough to own your own virtual reality headset, it's compatible with those as well.

Unlike machines with built-in screens you've seen or even used at the gym before, these new iterations are designed to move freely up and down and side to side rather than sit static on the ground. It's as though you're strapped into some amusement park ride that forces you to provide the thrills. The future's looking good.
