The Lamborghini Winter Academy

When you're a kid, there were three reasons snow days rocked: no school; snowball fights; getting to drive your remote controlled cars on snow and ice and watch them slide around on the slippery surface. Taking the third and multiplying it by a gazillion is Lamborghini Winter Academy, returning this spring to the Alps.

It's technically a school, but don't let that fool you. What it really is is an opportunity to do unholy things in drive 700-horsepower all-wheel drive monsters on the snow and ice in one of the most idyllic settings on earth.

Located in Cortina, how you get there is up to you, but when you arrive you're greeted by a hot cup of coffee that you definitely won't notice because there's an entire fleet of Lamborghinis waiting like a pack of puppies wanting to play with you.

Once you hop in, they show you the basics of how to control a supercar that costs more than your house, all the while driving sideways on treacherous roads.

Once you've mastered that, you can kick it up a notch and do everything without the benefit of traction or stability control, which is kinda crazy when you think about it.

Though probably not as crazy as blasting down icy roads at highway speeds in a car worth six figures — with the top down. That hot coffee's starting to make a lot more sense.
