Maserati Drops a Super Sexy New Coupe, Starts Golden Era

If you like high performance grand touring coupes (of course you do), it's a good time to be alive, since Maserati just debuted the Alfieri, a stunning coupe that's all set to take on the Jaguar F-Type. You can now officially say we're in a golden era for GT cars.

It's inspired by the 1954 Maserati A6 GCS, which was penned by the legendary Pininfarina, takes its name from company patriarch Alfieri Maserati, and thankfully has nothing to do with Guy Fieri.

It's obviously way sexier than already-pretty-hot Gran Turismo, and it's clearly gunning for the same segment as the Jaguar F-Type.

Inside, it's, well, not exactly finished, but the direction they're headed is at the same time simple, elegant, classic, and modern. It's technically a 2+2, which means you can fit two adults in the front seats, and two small bags of groceries in the back seats.

The engine hasn't been finalized yet, so all anyone really knows is that it's going to sound fantastic, as a Maserati should. Take a listen.

The back finishes off the shut-up-and-take-my-money design, and finishes Maserati's visual statement of intent that it's competing toe-to-toe with Jaguar and Porsche at the top of the grand tourer food chain.
