The Amphibious Camper

One parking space. Boat or camper? This classic dilemma that we should all be so lucky to have is rendered moot, neutered by the Sealander, der schwimmercaravan, from Deutchland. Looking like something out of the movie Sleeperthis trailer works auf land and auf wasser, giving you freiheit erleben, or "endless possibilities," as we say here in the States.

The funniest part about the Sealander is that it looks like something has gone horribly wrong when it's in the water, but actually it's perfectly fine. Floating like a bit of Hurricane Katrina debris, there's little about this schwimmcamper's construction to tell you it was meant for the water. Hell, the Airstream is curved, too, and it wasn't turned into a darn waterstream.

On the inside, there's a nice little setup, but you probably wouldn't want very many people in it at once—someone would surely end up forced to walk the plank after 48 hours together at sea.

To successfully float, the bottom is constructed like a flatboat, and there's an outboard motor that can be tossed in the water.

No need to put this boat on a trailer. Also, could it look more Euro?

If they ever make another National Lampoon family vacation, this should be the set.
