The Supercompressor 44

By su·per com·pres·sor: A patented watch case sealing method developed by manufacturer Ervin Piquerez S.A. The design takes advantage of the increased water pressures below sea level to tighten the case during deep dives. The greater the depth, the greater the pressure, the greater the seal. While we may not very well be diving into the abyss here at Supercompressor — only on weekends — for the past three months we have been diving into the bleeding edge of technology, gadgets, gear, vices, and rides. It's our mission to bring you the coolest stuff money can buy, and even the priceless stuff that it can't. With that in mind we went back over the past quarter and cherry picked our 44 favorite things and assembled them together in this swanky countdown for you to enjoy. Cheers!

WATCHES THE TUDOR HERITAGE BLACK BAY Tudor Watches, Rolex's slightly more affordable sibling, became available in the U.S. again in 2013 after a nine year hiatus. The Heritage Black Bay, a red-dialed pastiche after classic Tudor and Rolex Subs, led the charge and reignited interest, bringing Tudor out of its sibling's enormous shadow. Now, at Baselworld 2014, Tudor has presented the current Black Bay with a brother in midnight blue, providing a cooler counterpart to the warm burgundy and chocolate dial. Continue Reading

GEAR BEOPLAY H6 HEADPHONES Bang & Olufsen have been rocking the auditory scene with their headphones since 1979 and CES proved that 40 years of hard work continues to pay off. The BeoPlay H6 headphones look as if they were sculpted from the seat cushions of an Aston Martin — who they also do car stereos for — and that luxury extends to the feel of their supple leather-wrapped aluminum frame that gently cradles your noggin.

Allied What's this? When you see 'Allied' on a story, that means we were paid to write it. It does not mean it's not wildly entertaining, because it almost certainly is.?

Vice Avión Reserva 44 While their portfolio has cleaned up awards (including “World’s Best Tasting Tequila” at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition), with the release of Reserva 44, Avión isn’t resting on their agave laurels. Aged 44 months, with the last month being aged in specially selected and daily rotated petite oak barrels, 44 emerges with a smooth finish with notes of vanilla, caramel, and a hint of spice.  The initial launch is just 744 cases worldwide, so if you see it -- buy it.

RIDES THE MERCEDES ZETROS 6X6 EXPEDITION VEHICLE There are plenty of vehicles capable of making the journey across Antarctica, but not a lot in which you'd really want to spend that much time in the world's coldest environment. The Mercedes Zetros 6x6 Expedition Vehicle, however, will make you forget you're not inside a hotel, much less in a frozen wasteland.

With tons of styles to choose from, you can match your personality and hair color, from the Whitesnake to the Willie Nelson.

GEAR THE 24-CARAT GOLD AXE In the event that you don’t have a vintage double-barreled Anson & Deeley polished and hanging over your mantel, this Custom Gold Axe is the next best option.

TECH THE COIN CREDIT CARD Put your fat wallet on a diet with Coin, a single tech-connected credit card-sized device that takes the place of all your credit, debit, loyalty, gift, and I-don't-even-remember-what-this-one-is-for cards currently leaving a perma-divot on your cheeks. First, load your cards onto it one-by-one (there's no limit) using a Square Reader and the Coin app to organize them. When it's time to pay/redeem/rack up points, just whip out your Coin and give the built-in button a tap until the card you need is shown on the digital display and it's good to swipe.

TECH NO MORE WOOF It almost seems like science fiction, but a Scandinavian company called The Nordic Society for Invention and Discovery has created a device called No More Woof, which translates your dog's thoughts and verbalizes them into human language. Essentially, it's Google Translate for your pup.

VICE THE COCKSMAN CONDOM CLUB Unlike all the other "box of the month clubs" that are making the rounds right now, The Cocksman Club delivers a necessity that keeps the world safe and aptly-populated. For those of us who've found ourselves in dire straights after the rushed search for condoms leaves us empty-handed, The Cocksman Club has your back — and front. Zing.

VICE WINE IN A CAN It's hard to say if Union Wine Company's Underwood Pinot in a can took a hint from the gang on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia or simply saw canned spirits as the way of the future. Either way, this is definitely the easiest way to sip twelve ounces of Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir without the hassle of corkscrews, bottle openers, or cups.

GEAR THE TUDOR HERITAGE RANGER Just like its Black Bay brother above, the Heritage Ranger has us all hot and bothered from this year's BaselWorld.

It's basically your new Spotify butler.

VICE THE BURRITO BOX VENDING MACHINE Now available in L.A. but (hopefully) coming soon to a gas station and living room near you: the Burritobox, the world's first automated burrito kiosk. While some of the details of this automated godsend are shrouded in mystery/gooey queso and wrapped inside a tortilla, it's safe to say all other vending machines need to up their game. It's even kinda healthy(ish) — none of the meat has any hormones or antibiotics added, and the breakfast burritos have cage-free eggs.

RIDES THE DODGE VAPOR From time to time, the Air Force uses their own cars to throw down a gauntlet and demonstrate their superiority over the rest of the world without actually having to blow anyone up. Enter the Dodge Vapor, an all-black rolling testament to U.S. air superiority that's equipped with just about anything you could ever need, and a few extras just for fun.

GEAR THE SLEEPING BAG YOU CAN HAVE SEX IN Yes, the Sexy Hotness Sleeping Bag is intended to allow the outdoor-type to do just as the name implies and have sex — without opening up a hell-hole to a dank cavern of sweaty underparts after. With meticulously placed (and we'd hope researched) zippers sewn into it, you're able to free up the extremities that matter most for when spooning leads to something else. And with padded feet, it allows you to also walk around the campsite when you're scrounging for that post-sex snack.

HOME THE SIMPSONS LEGO SET A match made in pop culture heaven, a few photos of the forthcoming Simpsons Lego set have leaked, and they're glorious. Not only does it include the iconic house (with a dollhouse-like hinge for interior access to all the furniture-stocked rooms and garage), but also custom-engineered spiky-headed and crazy-haired minifigs of Bart, Lisa, Maggie, Marge, Homer, and even Flanders. Woo hoo!

HOME THE HAROW SKULL ARMCHAIR Just the morbid touch your living room's been missing, the Harow Skull Armchair is a plush black velvet high-backed lounger built into the backside of a giant glossy human skull.

HOME THE V-TEX REVERSE MICROWAVE Never again wait around like a junkie for a warm six-pack to get cold thanks to V-Tex's new reverse microwave, which uses rapid cooling tech to chill liquids in under a minute, or nearly 25 times faster than the sad old ice bath method. RIDES 1968 BIZZARRINI 5300 GT STRADA ALLOY This 1968 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada Alloy, which hits the block next month at RM's Monaco auction, ticks just about every box you could want in an exotic supercar, and if you weren't around to drool over it in the 1960s, the chances are you've never even heard of it.

Originally built to win its class at Le Mans, which it did in 1964 and '65, the car was designed by a team of superstar designers and engineers after a revolt at Ferrari. The body's adapted from a design by the incomparable Giorgetto Guigiaro, and is so slick — it's only 43 inches high — that when they first tested it, the driver had to back off the throttle so he wouldn't blow the engine.

HOME THE FLOAT MAGNETIC TABLE Putting an optical illusion front and center in your living room, the Float Table is an artfully crafted piece of furniture made from a series of square wooden blocks that appear to be freely hovering above one another.

RIDES THE CATERHAM BRUTUS 750 Caterham, a tiny car company based outside of London has just this week decided that it's high time they dove into the ridiculous motorcycle market with the Brutus 750, which is for all intents and purposes a two-wheeled Hummer. It's being advertised as the perfect bike, attacking the holy trinity of concrete, dirt, and snow equally.

VICE RON BURGUNDY'S SCOTCH In some of the best news since Ben & Jerry's made primetime and LEGO got that signature coifGreat Odin's Raven, a Scotch (of course), hit shelves sometime in December. While exact pricing and availability are still unknown, there has been breaking updates that it is indeed a 40% ABV blend of whiskies from Speyside, Highlands, and Islay, featuring a healthy amount of jazz flute fruit flavor.

VICE SCOTCH IN A CAN Scottish Spirits' Canned Whisky might be the best idea of the century or an express train to the worst hangover of your life. This 40% ABV can of three-year-aged single grain scotch whisky is pure punishment when you factor in that just one twelve ounce can equates to roughly eight shots. Their site encourages you to share with friends, but we all know there are people out there who, uh, won't. There's also the option of using their resealable latex cap — which might dissuade you from downing the can in one fell swoop. But hey — you could always do worse

VICE HOW TO MAKE A SNOWGARITA Look out your window, see that white stuff? Know what that means? It means it's the perfect time to take advantage of the subzero winter wonderland and make a Snowgarita. It's half cocktail, half snow, all boozily satisfying.

RIDES BETO BY REVIVAL CYCLES The latest bike to come out of Austin's Revival Cycles is truly global: its name is Beto, and it's pretty much equal parts Japanese, Italian, and Texan, and accordingly it's both modern and retro depending on how you look at it.

Your favorite taco accessories can now be brought into your home with complete ease and legality. No more hoarding packets. They're all here: Mild, Hot, Fire, and Salsa Verde. It's like Christmas, Hanukkah, and your birthday all had an orgy and popped out four spicy little babies.

RIDES THE LOW DRAG EAGLE E-TYPE GT The Low Drag Eagle E-Type GT, a modern hard top interpretation of the Jaguar E-Type, has officially knocked its topless sister — the Eagle Speedster — off the podium in the competition for the sexiest Jaguar, and quite possibly sexiest car ever built.

RIDES THE STREET LEGAL BATMOBILE Generally, getting stuck in traffic is a great time to observe everyone around you as they do their best Christian Bale impersonations, but now you can intimidate the hell out of them when you fill up their rear view mirror with an actual, street legal, freaking Batmobile replica, like this one that you can get for far less than the cost of a used Bugatti.

VICE TATTOOED BAKERS FACE CAKE When we originally set out to write about the insanely talented chefs at Tattooed Bakers, my focus switched from their ridiculously awesome unicorn cake to a little button on the bottom of their website that said "drop us a line and we will make you something awesome!" Naturally, we reached out to them and asked them to make a cake of Jeremy Glass' face. They said yes. So here are some pictures of Jeremy's face as a cake.

VICE THE ALCHEMIST HEADY-TOPPER IPA Sold only in cans and available for purchase solely within a 25-mile radius of its Waterbury, VT birthplace, the Alchemist Heady Topper is one of the world's most coveted beers. Sitting at the very top of the Beer Advocate rankings with its perfect 100 rating, this beefy hop-filled double IPA has apparently been spotted on the D.C. black market going for $18 a can.

VICE THE GRASSHOPPER VAPORIZER Basically a handful of rockets scientist (alright, alright, dudes who've studied aerospace engineering... but still) were pretty bummed on their paraphernalia and decided to make one of the most tech-savvy vapes out there. The Grasshopper Vaporizer turns on with the click of a button and tells you when it's charging and properly heated (with a dial for temperature adjustment), all with a lifetime guarantee. And it looks like a pen, so you're able to take it anywhere.

GEAR GABOR BALOGH'S SMARTWATCH CONCEPT In the past year we've seen an explosion of smartwatches, fitness trackers, and other wrist-mounted devices trying to fill the cracks in our relationship with technology.
