The 5-Ounce, (Nearly) Indestructible Hammock

If you haven't noticed, we're sort of obsessive about hammocks at Supercompressor. From the party variety to the sleeping bag-equipped, and even the disco ball-ed, we can't get enough.

Our latest discovery from Hummingbird Hammocks may soon earn favorite status, though, since it's significantly lighter and more compact than any other on the market, making the notion of on-demand napping more realistic than ever before. This is very, very good news.

The single-person version is fashioned from parachute-grade rip stop nylon and tips the scales at barely five ounces, but it's built tough enough to hold up to 300 pounds. You won't have to make much room for it in your bag, either, since it—along with the included two soft carabiners—packs down to the size of a coffee cup. So long as you're not hiking in skinny jeans, you could easily stash it in a pants pocket.

Depending on where you plan to set up camp, there are four color options, ranging from loud and bright to more camouflaged greens. And bringing it from a solid A to undeniable A+ territory is the fact that a portion of the profits made will be donated to help keep and maintain clean American hiking trails.
