Hang The Same Flag On Your Wall That’s Been Flown Over the Capitol

Flag Day is tomorrow. Did you know that? No, you didn’t, and you’re probably not alone. To make up for your blatant disregard for patriotism, it might be time to get a fresh iteration of Old Glory for your wall, flagpole, or window. The biggest kept flag secret in the US is that you can actually get a flag that has flown over the capitol building—all you have to do is ask, and fill out a small form.

Because you’re a taxpayer (or you’re supposed to be one), you have every right to make a claim on one of the flags that flies above the hallowed hall where our laws are created. Since there’s more than one flagpole, you have some size and material options. The cheapest flag is the 3x5 footers, the most expensive is the 8x12 fella that’ll run you $109.50.

While you can very easily procure one of these flags, you need to follow the letter of the law to get it. This is, after all, the US government and there will be a little red tape. Since Congress is in charge of the building, you have to submit a form to your representative, which you can find on their website pretty easily if you use the Google.
