Gerber's 'Get Out Of Jail Free' Card

If you Google "how to get past razor wire," chances are you're going down a rabbit hole of fun for about 15 minutes...or, like, 45. "Well, first step is seeing if there's a way past without going over," wrote one dude on the Internet, who we assume is quite wanted. "Hole in the fence, weakness along the ground, etc. That's always worked for me." Another writes, "DO NOT throw a carpet over and expect to be home-free...a single layer of carpet will get sliced just about when you're halfway over."

But to get past this particular obstacle, a purpose-made tool always helps, which is why Gerber has made the Concertina Cutter. Or as we like to call it, the get-out-of-jail-free card.

If you apply 75 pounds of force to the grip—work those forearms, dude—the cutter will turn that into 1,200 pounds of cutting force. This is all thanks to the compound leverage that magnifies the force approximately 70 percent more than classic cutting pliers. This, of course, is vital because it's almost impossible to cut razor wire with standard tools. This compound leverage actually allows you to do this one-handed, so you can fight off the Shawshank dogs with the other hand.

Or you could just get a motorcycle and jump to freedom, like this guy.
